Pepper Spray, 12-1:30pm
November 27, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
$79.00
Pepper Spray: Pepper spray is one of the most widely used non-lethal Personal Protection Devices for self defense in the world.
This course is designed specifically for the private citizen who has decided to purchase and utilize pepper spray as a means of non-lethal use of force for personal protection. Known as Oleoresin Capsicum spray, it is precisely what it appears to be – an extremely concentrated extract of capsaicin, derived from peppers. While pepper spray can be useful in deterring an attacker, many owners do not have any actual experience deploying and using it.
This class features a slide show detailing the effects of O.C (pepper spray), the difference between stream, foam and fog sprays, proper deployment of pepper spray, preventing contamination of yourself and others, decontamination procedures after deployment, as well as covering other less-than-lethal options.
This class also addresses situational awareness techniques, proper deployment of pepper spray, and how to move to safety and call 911. We will discuss emergency warning signs and how to avoid becoming a victim. Lastly, we will also cover Pennsylvania state laws regarding legal vs illegal use of pepper spray as well as other personal protection devices.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
1. Identify the effects of pepper spray
2. Types of delivery systems
3. How to deploy and use pepper spray effectively
4. Identify first aid procedures
5. Historical context of pepper spray
*Reservation is required*: Limited to 8 tickets; $79
